Emerging Athlete Award
The Parish Walk organising committee and Manx Telecom are pleased to announce a new bursary award to be made to a local young athlete between the ages of 17 and 23 years.
Athletes from any disciplines of sport are invited to fill in an application form for consideration for the £1,000 award, outlining their achievements and aspirations for the future.
The Parish Walk generates a lot of income for Manx charities every year and through the generous sponsorship from Manx Telecom, profits from the event have gone to fund under-age athletics via the Manx Harriers Athletic Club. The Parish Walk also supports Island Games athletes with individual financial aid. This year in addition to these initiatives, the Parish Walk will be putting something extra into island athletics with the Emerging Athlete Award. This bursary will be given to either a male or female athlete who impresses the committee members with their past performances and vision for the future. The closing date for applications is May 5th and forms are available from all club secretaries, via the Parishwalk.com website or from Allan Callow at pnk@manx.net.
The successful candidate will be presented with the award and branded clothing at the Parish Walk prize presentation at the Villa Marina on June 24th 2025.
